PEACOCK DISPLAY FACTORY - About Peacock Display Factory

Peacock Crate Factory was established in East Texas in 1896 and moved to its current location in Jacksonville, Texas in 1949. The factory has been owned and operated by family members since its inception. We changed our name to Peacock Display Factory in March of 2001 to better describe the market we currently serve.

Peacock Crate Factory was started because of the demand for containers to safely ship and store tomatoes. For many years, Jacksonville, Texas was known as “The Tomato Capital of the World.” Peacock Crate Factory started out manufacturing wooden crates for tomatoes in 1896 and in 1919 added wooden baskets and lids to its line. Over the next two generations many other sizes of baskets were added.

As the tomato “boom” slowed the baskets began being used for other fruits and vegetables, as well as by the craft industry.

In the early 80’s, Peacock Crate Factory began manufacturing store fixtures and displays on a small scale. Today store fixturing is a mainstay in our line and has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. Peacock Crate Factory caters to small “mom and pop” operations, as well as to large chain accounts such as JCPenney, Mervyns, MJDesigns, Walt Disney, Williams Sonoma, and many others.

At Peacock Display Factory we are extremely quality conscience. We use only high quality materials in the manufacturing of our products. We adhere to high standards of safety, quality control, and environmental awareness. All of our residual materials are reused in some fashion. We have adopted a recycling plan that minimizes waste and maximizes the conservation of our natural resources.

Peacock Display Factory currently utilizes over 33,000 square feet on its 181/2 acre site for the manufacture of the wooden baskets, store fixtures, and displays pictured in this catalog. We have the capacity to fulfill even the largest orders for some of America’s major chain stores. A large percentage of what we produce is not shown on our website or in our catalog; it is custom built to meet the specific needs of our customers.
